Ohana means family whether your blood related or not. Family trip to Hawaii has come and gone but not without memories made and many pictures taken. The amount of beautiful sunsets, sunrises, and rainbows is more than I can count. The rain didn't stop any of our activities! #Hawaii #family #Maui #Montage #beach #vacation #sunsets #rainbows
Aloha!
When I started this blog, the first post I wanted to do was about my upcoming trip to Hawaii. Well, the Maui week has now come and gone. We did so much in such a short amount of time, I don’t even know where to start. From two eight-hour-ish plane rides to sitting by the pool, snorkeling, getting muddy on an ATV, there wasn’t much we skipped out on.
We did majority of all the tourist attractions on the island, which were great, but I have to say that the best part of the week was spending time with both my biological family and “adopted” family. Yes, I know I am not actually adopted, but we have now adopted three people into our little family. And I wouldn't have it any other way. For some backstory, the couple we traveled with has been in our lives for about sixteen years, after the wife was a patient of my dads, the network in our house wasn't working, and husband said his wife was very organized when my mom needed some help keeping her office tidy. So, he recommended her and she's been coming to our house almost every week since. They have celebrated holidays, graduations, and birthdays with us. A lifelong friendship started by one simple conversation.
I could also bring a friend to enjoy the sunshine with us. When my mom said our condo fit six people. There was only one person who came to mind, one of my favorite friends from TCU. She and I have been friends since sophomore year, (I’m sorry if you’ve heard this story too many times, excuse me while I tell it one more time), we were in the same club for all four years. But didn’t become close friends until second semester of sophomore year. We met up at the end of one of the first meetings that semester and agreed to get lunch the end of that week. What we didn’t know going into that lunch was that it would be five hours long and consist of lunch, dessert, and another forty-five minute parking lot conversation. After that day of stories, we knew that was it. The rest is history.
This trip was so cool, there’s way too much to recap. I don’t even know where to begin. I want to start with my favorite part but to be honest, I can’t pick just one. It would have to be between the luau or the sunset cruise.
This was the first luau I had ever been to, and I have to say it was a blast! Tons of food, beautiful beach front views, and fire dancers! What could be better than that? The next night, we went on a dinner cruise, something was in the air that night because the weather was magical. The wind was a little intense, aside from that, the waves were calm and the stars were out (so were the whales!).
From the hotel, to the food, to the drinks, to the group, there was nothing I would have changed about the week. Even the time change and flights weren’t bad! Seriously, I completely recommend going on a vacation with your favorite people, it’s so fun!
Mele Kalikimaka Everyone!
