TCU Football is in full swing...we have our work cut out for us this season! In the midst of the chaos, I got the chance to chat with a former Frog and NFL player, John Booty about football and our beloved Alma Mater! (We also got a cute picture with Superfrog!) #football #FortWorth #TCU #Friends #NFL #Frogs #GoFrogs #betterlucknextime
The Horned Frogs third football game of the 2021 season was one for the record books...I love the Frogs with my entire being, however, we have a lot of work to do. Put in the work boys, let’s bounce back next week!
Now for the better parts of Game Day...contrary to popular belief, I’m not too opposed to 11:00 o’clock games. Saturday wasn’t terrible (ask me this again next week…), there was no traffic, the weather is finally starting to cooperate a bit (especially before noon), and mornings in The Carter are something special. Stick a Mimosa or Bloody Mary in the mix and you’re good to go! In my case, I had a PB&J and an energy drink and along with all the adrenaline and stress, it did the trick!
One of my favorite parts of the game was getting to watch and cheer for the Frogs sitting next to a former Frog Football Player and NFL Defensive Back: John Booty. Walking out of a game last season, my parents started talking to this man, one thing lead to another, and they found out his background: starting off college at a junior college eventually transferring to TCU and playing football for two years, which lead him to the NFL draft. John was drafted in the 10th round to the New York Jets where he played for two seasons before moving onto the Philidelphia Eagles for two seasons, then the Phoenix Cardinals, the New York Giants, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to round out his NFL career. At the end of his time in the NFL, he decided to return to TCU to finish his degree which has lead him where he is today.
On Saturday, he attended the game with the help of Coach Patterson. Booty texted my mom and ended up sitting with us the whole time. At one point, it was only me and him sitting in our seats in which I took that opportunity to discuss the game and previous Frog games with him. Let me just say, that was a dream come true! I told him how I never missed a home game (even the game I live-streamed from an airplane), the specific play I remember from a game from three years ago, and even my first NFL games coming up in October. Screaming for the boys, and him being impressed with how much I know about the sport, next to a former player was something I never thought I would get to do. Thank you mom for befriending everyone you meet!
