Sunday Funday but make it football related (as always). Denver Broncos take on The Washington Football Team and TCU Football takes a turn. This Halloween, I not only had the opportunity to see one in person but also got some sad news about a college icon. (Halloween is the best people watching holiday, change my mind). #Denver #Broncos #NFL #TCU #college #theGOATs #bittersweet #SundayFunday

There’s something exciting about attending a football game where you are a neutral party...it’s both stressful and relaxing all in one. The Denver Broncos took on The Washington Football Team at Mile High Stadium on Halloween. I, along with fellow coworkers, my parents, and friends, got to attend the game. While this game was not one I had any stake in whatsoever, it was so incredibly fascinating to see how other game-day cultures are in a different stadium than I am used to. Needless to say, Denver game day is very different than a Texas/Dallas Cowboys game day.
As someone who has been around football for as long as I can remember, there are certain people in the NFL (and college) that I would consider “Goats” (greatest of all time) or famous in many ways. Seeing Peyton Manning, although he does go to a majority of the Bronco’s games receive his recognition and indictment into the Denver Bronco’s ring of fame (I'll admit I was a bit starstruck). Seeing such an iconic football player was a bucket list moment, I didn’t even know I had. There is just so much that the Manning family has done for the sport of football, that as a sports fanatic, I just want to thank them for. Even after the brothers and father stopped playing, they are still involved; the sport would not be the same without them. So, I just want to thank the Manning Family for everything they have done.
Although Halloween was bittersweet, after the end of the Denver game, my phone buzzed...it was a news article saying that the head football coach for my beloved Horned Frogs is leaving. My heart broke hearing this news. I was in disbelief for a few days. Maybe I’m being dramatic, maybe I’m not. As a native Texan, even though I am not originally from Fort Worth, I know the impact that Coach Patterson has made on not only TCU,

but the city of Fort Worth. Throughout my time at TCU, his presence made my experience what it was: amazing. I have a few favorite moments with Coach P: one, freshman year I was walking back from the parking garage and said hi to him and he waved while crossing the street (I was a bit starstruck) and two, my senior year, I had the opportunity to bring a friend to the Spring Scrimmage and sit in the Athletics Directors suite. After the game, my friend I brought to the game saw that Coach P was signing autographs. Naturally, we got in line. Meeting Gary Patterson was one of the highlights of my college career. His voice was gone, he signed our athletics passes, and we got a picture. Definitely a huge highlight for a TCU football fan. This news came as a shock in timing and I am sad to see him go, however, I know that we can and will come back from this and I am excited to see what the future holds for both the Patterson family and TCU football.
The hope is still alive. As always, go frogs forever!
